As V8 Supercar continues to build its own history to go along with the different eras that make up Australian touring car racing, a big change is occurring with the cars. Once viewed as little more than machines to race, rebuild, update or sell off, V8 Supercars are now worthy additions to car collections. And they're attracting big money.

Reversal of fortune

It looks like V8 Supercars Australia judged the mood of fans correctly when deciding to introduce reverse-grid races. At least that's what a V8X straw poll of fans at Winton has revealed, with the majority questioned backing the new format, saying they like the biff 'n' barge and the fact that the usual suspects don't win every race.
