Team owner Garry Rogers is a renowned talent spotter having given the likes of Garth Tander, Jason Bright, Steven Richards, Jamie Whincup, Lee Holdsworth, Michael Caruso, Scott McLaughlin and more their starts in Supercars.
The latest Rogers protégé is 21-year-old Victorian James Golding, who made his Supercars debut with Garry Rogers Motorsport in the endurance events in 2016 and participated in two solo events as a wildcard entry before teaming with Garth Tander in the enduros in 2017.
Rogers describes what he sees in the mechanic turned racer nicknamed 'Bieber' in his exclusive column in V8X Supercar Magazine issue #99.
Issue #99 is on sale now in stores with the digital edition available in the official V8X app (in the App Store and Google Play), online at DigitalEdition.V8XMagazine.com.au and in the Magzter app store.

"He is a very skilful driver, but he has also got a good brain because it's no good being skilful if you're a dope," writes Rogers.
"I have also been impressed that 'Beiber' has joined the team as an apprentice mechanic. He is not scared to get his hands dirty. It is also great that he realised that racing is something that he wanted to do and obviously he's been very good at it for a long time and hopefully will be for a long time to come.
"He knows he can't be a racing driver forever and he wanted to have some form of established trade. He enjoyed the motor mechanic side of things and he's good to work with. He's got a good wit and he fits in well with all the boys and girls.
"I've always been a huge advocate of bringing on the young drivers because I believe this sport is best suited to young talent."
